Objectives
- Understand and apply the appropriate techniques to evaluate the shoulder and make an accurate diagnosis of shoulder injuries and pathologies.
- Learn to interpret and integrate information obtained from various imaging techniques in the evaluation and diagnosis of shoulder pathologies.
- Understand the surgical anatomy of the shoulder and the different surgical approaches used to perform procedures on this joint.
- Become familiar with the principles of shoulder arthroscopy, a technique increasingly used in shoulder surgery.
- Learn and apply surgical techniques for repairing anterior and posterior labral tears, as well as for treating multidirectional instability.
- Learn arthroscopic rotator cuff repair techniques, as well as alternatives in cases of irreparable rotator cuff tears.
- Learn techniques for treating acute and chronic acromioclavicular dislocations, as well as sternoclavicular disorders.
- Learn ORIF techniques for treating bone fractures in the shoulder, as well as arthroplasty techniques for advanced pathology.
- Learn about and apply image-guided procedures, such as barbotage and glenohumeral injections, as well as other procedures like arthroscopic suprascapular nerve release.
